I get asked some version of this all the time! Some clients know exactly what they want and some have absolutely no idea. That’s ok. I am trained to help ALL my clients. I am a Design Consultant with over 20 years in the window treatment business. I have seen it all! The last thing I want is an overwhelmed client. After all, we do have soooo many choices!
Here’s my process. The first thing I do is sit with the client. I like to get to know you. I am there to help you. I can’t do that without really listening to you. I need to know all the technical things about your home like where you need privacy, inside or outside mounts….but more than that, I need to know how you FEEL about your home. Are you happy with what you have and just need an update? Do you hate it and need a new solution? How do you want your home to feel? Warm and cozy? Super glam? Modern? I want to know all of it!
Then I break it down in to 2 categories. Do you want a blind or a shade? I know we spoke about the differences in the post about Woven Woods.
Did you want blinds?
Blinds are very popular with clients that love an in between option. You can have your blinds open, closed or closed and tilt the slats open to let in some light. Check out our verticals. These are not the verticals from the past! We have gorgeous colors and textures now.
Maybe you like shades. Here is one with the same options as a blind but in a beautiful fabric. It has a sheer overlay for diffused sunlight when open and fabric slats that can give you complete privacy and even room darkening!
While we are on the blind options, here is the modern version. Simply Sheers. This one doesn’t tilt, it slides up and down, giving you a very sleek look.
Then I move on to our shade options. The most popular for me are the classic Honeycomb shades. They never go out of style. They are extremely energy efficient. They are perfect when you are looking to layer your designs like in this picture but also beautiful on their own. Ours have fabric wrapped headers and bottom rails. They are so classy, especially in the textured fabrics.
Also popular is the roller shades. These work in just about any room. They can be used with any style of decor. They can be an all in one product. You can order it with the fabric cassette with is beautiful on its own. No no need for a valance. The option of fabric wrapped bottom rails is so classy.
Of course we already discussed my favorite are the Woven Woods. So warm and inviting!
Next is our Soft Goods Department. This is where I have spent most of my career so I can definitely help you with these choices!
We have roman shades in so many beautiful fabrics and styles. There are also custom drapery. We can design for any window or style. we also have valances with many options.
Last but certainly not least is our Shutters. These are a classic treatment. They are more popular in some parts of the country but we sell them everywhere. They are a mostly stationary product. They have a tilt option and doors that can open. Even sliders for doors! They can be custom fit to almost any shape window. They are perfect for arches and transoms to keep the sun from beating on you!
Once we chat and I take a tour of your home, I can help narrow down the choices to two options. I then bring in fabric samples and the fun really begins! Most clients are amazed by how large our collections are. I have something for everyone!
What would your choice be?
