Setting the Scene

Welcome to my realm of holiday decorating.

This guide is here to help you infuse your home with the spirit of the season while maintaining a sleek and nature-inspired decor style.

Celebrating Christmas Eve

Celebrating Christmas Eve is the highlight of the whole year! Until recently, we have aways had so many people at our celebration. Typical Dominican Christas Eve full of close family and good food. We do Christmas pajamas. One set for each family. This gives us the perfect chance to get family photos done. Here the one from last year of my crew.

My Christmas decor is nature themed. I started decorating in an Organic Modern Style 3 or 4 years ago. I like to infuse natural elements into my holiday decor

I usually use a neutral tone palette: I describe it as living in Scandinavia in the Alps. I love the simplicity in whites, beiges, and browns with a touch of gold.

Decorating Tips and Creative Ideas

  • Mixing It Up: Blending Designer Finds with Affordable Decor from Various Stores. I have been known to shop the deigner collections, Big Lots, Walmart and even Dollar Tree. Just pick a theme and keep your eyes open!
  • DIY Delights: I love to make use of what I already own. I keep an open mind and think out of the box. I have transformed paper bags into snowflakes, elevated Amazon Trees in rattan baskets from Target and much more!
  • Consistent Themes: Carrying the Organic Modern Vibe Across Different Spaces. I try to keep one theme throughout the house. There are exceptions like the kids rooms.

Budget-Friendly Holiday Decor Strategies

  • Unconventional Finds: Dollar Tree Gems and Repurposing Existing Items. Try out thrift stores too. Check out these wreaths I got at the end of the seson last year. $2 at Angels Of Long Island and I love that my money goes to help needy families.

Transformative Touch: Repainting Existing Decor to Fit the Neutral Color Scheme. I am never afraid to break out the spray paint or my paint brush. One year I wanted to flock my tree but amazon would not deliver the flock in time for my party. So I did what any respectable DIYer would do. Pull out the chip brush and the wite paint. I had that tree flocked in no time!

Personal Touches and Sentimental Decor

  • Cherishing Memories: Like incorporating your children’s holiday Items into decor. I usually do a family momento tree that is not my main tree. Think of unexpected places for trees. In the corner of a bedroom is a great place. I have one in my dining room with all the kids ornaments. Makes great conversation starters.
  • Trend Alert: Embracing the Timeless Appeal of Neutral Color Schemes that will be in style no matter what the trend.
  • Everlasting Elegance: White Lights as a Classic Holiday Decoration Choice. They match all decor!
  • Festive Atmosphere Beyond Decor: The Importance of good food and close company is what it is all about for me! We have adapted a coktail party theme instead of a sit down dinner. My kids love it! I make sure to incorporate all their favorite apps. Check out last year’s spread.

Managing Space and Safety

  • Maximizing Space: Rearranging Furniture to Accommodate Trees without Clutter. Last year I think I counted 9 trees! Some were small, like on my toilet. A full size one lives on my porch now. Another full size but slim one in my dining room and 4 foot trees in the kids rooms.
  • Safety Measures: Tips for Safely Using Multiple Strings of Lights and Heavy-Duty Power Strips. I like to use alor of lights on my trees. I think the most I have done is 12 on one, giant tree! But I always make sure safety is my first priority! Only three strings of lights can be plugged into each other. They get spread on to two heavy duty power strips with. cutoff switches. Never overload an extesion cord. If you have real trees, make sure you never let the water run out. This will let sap form around the trunk and then it’s almost impossible for the tree to absorb water. Ths can be a fire hazzard when hot lights are on it!

Conclusion: Celebrate in Style

This holiday season, let nature’s charm and your unique style guide your festive decor choices. Incorporate sentimental touches, explore affordable finds, and create a warm and inviting ambiance for cherished moments with family and friends.
