Hola Saboristas! Dominican lime dressing is a favorite of all my guests. They can never tell what i put in my salads. When I tell them how easy it is, they are shocked. I personally try not to use too many ingredients that are pre made.
Dominicans and Salad
When you visit Dominican Republic, you will see that they eat lots of salads. The aren’t necessarily a main dish but they are present at just about every meal. They almost all have some version of Dominican Lime dressing. I always wondered how my family over there eat many things modern doctors would warn against and still stay healthy. I am sure some of it is attributed to exercise. It takes a lot of physical labor to tend to those farms!
Diet is another important factor. The non modernized part of the Dominican citizens eat a relatively healthy diet. They stick to fresh food like fruits, meats and vegetables. Dominican Lime dressing is a daily staple. You can say “oh but they eat a lot of rice and fried foods.” If you really take a good look, they eat small sides that may be fried like plantains but it is never a large portion. They add beans every day to their rice which makes it a complete protein and adds a ton of fiber.
The other thing you will see on their plates is always a salad. My familiá always ate a plate of salad before the meal. I personally love this. I used to eat my salad and then serve my dinner on that same plate so my rice could soak up all that yummy dressing left on the plate! This also fills you up before the main meal which means you’re eating less!
Try this and let me know what you think? Will you be converted from bottle to fresh Dominican Lime Dressing?
