I love crafting! all kinds of crafts. I’m not particular. I want to try it all. I’ve actually tried most of them lol. I own just about every crafting gadget. I am especially fond of my Cameo. I’ve done everything from shirts, signs, stickers…..but I am particularly obsessed with cups. Not sure why. I will admit to having a little hoarding problem with cups. I always wanted the newest, greatest cup. So when I saw the opportunity to custom make my own cups, I was all over it!! well, I found I could use my cameo to decorate them but they needed to be sealed. All my research lead me to epoxy, it was the most durable but had a bit of a learning curve. So I got everything to get started. I mean everything!!!! And on my first day, I discovered I was allergic to epoxy! And not a little, I mean ALLERGIC, itchy all over, throat closing, run to get benandryl allergic. So it all got stored away!

But now I found out about sublimation. It has opened a whole new crafting world to me. Of course, I went and bought all the supplies to get started on that too.
Here’s my grandson’s birthday shirt. Don’t let the face fool you. He loved it!
The most exciting part of sublimation is I can make cups. No epoxy needed. You see sublimation is the actual dyeing of the substrate. It’s not on the surface like vinyl. I couldn’t wait to buy the best convection toaster oven and try a cup. My good friend just got married and she was my Secret Santa at work. Perfect opportunity to try and make a gift. Here is the end result. It’s not perfect, but she loved it.
What do you think? What should I try next? Any ideas??
