Vision Board Magic!

Do you believe in magic? I’ll admit to not being a big believer. My mind has always been too black and white for that. But age has brought on a new sense of curiosity and awareness. I am now more open to new ways of thinking.

I have been reading so many new genres this past year. Mostly self awareness books like Super Attractor by Gabrielle Bernstein, Get Out of Your Own Way by David Hollis, Everything is figureatable by Marie Forleo among others. Some financial books like Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. Some business building books like Rise and Grind by Daymond John and Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuck. and lastly, some autobigraphies like More Myself by Alicia Keys, A Promised Land by Barack Obama and Becoming by Michelle Obama (always great on audible because you get to hear the author tell the story in their own voice!)

But it all really started with a book club hosted by the fabulous Susan Eckert from susaneckertma.com. We all read Playing Big by Tara Mohr. One of our “homework assignments” was to make a vision board. We were going to redo our bedroom soon so I decided to make a vision book. I remember Susan saying that wouldn’t work fo her because she would forget to look in it lol. Well she was right! 2 years later, I never looked it in it again!!!!

Last week I started reading Get Rich, Lucky Bitch by Denise Duffeld-Thomas. In the book she talks about vision boards and it dawned on me that I made that book! I ran and got it out immediately. What I found was shocking!!!!

My biggest desire at the time was to move. I had no plan. mediocre credit and lots of debt. Basically a recipe for disaster!!!

Well here are my results!

First of all, I got a job offer that I couldn’t pass up. It is the first time in 21 years that I am working full time. I have been too busy raising four children to be able to work full time. So, I am now in the final stages of buying my new house!

I’ve always had a dream of buying a house with a front porch. Here is my pic I taped in my book. My house may not look like that, but it has an adorable front porch!

I let my kids get involved in my vision book too. They picked this photo to represent the pool they dream of. Well, we got a pool! I may not be ready for it, but they got it lol.

I wanted a house with bay windows. I make window treatments and always loved decorating them. This house will have two sets!

I am a crafter at heart but never have the room to do what I want. I am now going to set up a craft room in my new sunroom!

I wanted a living room with a fireplace. This new house a whole wall fireplace!!

I wanted a house with a yard big enough to entertain like this! Well, the yard is bigger than any of us could have imagined!

Since I have a window treatment business, I need a dedicated wok

space. I was dreaming of She Shed and I got it!!!!

I have 2 young grandchildren. I wanted fun spaces for them. Besides the pool, they got a play set with a built in tree house and a bedroom we will have fun decorating! Summer will be so much fun for them!

I did have some other goals to aspire to. One was travel! We usually never travel. Well, I’ve taken three major trips since then!

Then there was my hair! after straightening my hair my whole life, i decided to finally embrace how beautiful natural hair can be. I had been dabbling with the CGM method for a year. These were my hair goals. I may not be there yet but I am definitely on my way!

The last picture was more about self development. i want to have a more zen lifestyle instead of this constantly running around all the time. This has been in the works too. i listen to books in the car every day. i have started a morning meditation practice. Read the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, it will change your life! I also scheduled my Reiki session with Susan Eckert.

I may still have my doubts about magic but i am definitely a believer in vision boards!
