Let’s talk window coverings. There are so many types. Today we’re focusing on shades. What makes a shade different than a blind? The main thing is that blinds have three options. Open, closed or use the tilt option as an in between. Shades only have an open or closed option. Now, I said only but don’t take that as a negative! It can be so beautiful when done right. The advantage is that you always have a clear view through your window. No obstruction of view. But what if you like having an in between option? What if you want sunlight coming in but don’t want “naked” windows? Don’t worry, as your Design Consultant at 3 Day, I have solutions for you!
Did you know we have many options of light filtering shades. What does light filtering mean? It means that sunlight will get filtered enough to provide you comfort but will not get completely blocked like room darkening shades. There so many choices with us. Roller shades, Honeycombs and my favorite, Woven Woods.
Woven woods for me, provide everything you need in a window covering. Have seen all the textures we have? They are just gorgeous! We have many levels of privacy too. Some have very wide spaces or a large weave. These are great for when you don’t need a lot of privacy. Keep in mind when choosing, whatever you see out in the daylight is what other see in at nightime. Need more privacy? We have some with much smaller spaces or a tighter weave. Need room darkening or complete privacy, don’t worry. We have optional liners available. Those even have options. Light filtering, premium and room darkening are all available as liners for all your privacy needs.
One of my favorite things about the shades is that they are eco friendly, made of natural materials. Because of this, it is normal to see some variation between shades. Keep this in mind when ordering multiple shades in one room.

The other great part is the different control and mounting options. They come in cordlock, continuous cord loop, cordless, motorized and even top down, bottom up. The latter is great for when you want light in, but need privacy. We also offer up ended mounting options. That means if you have only little depth in your window, we can turn the board and have an inside mount where otherwise you wouldn’t have! They even have two choices on the header too. Standard valance or waterfall for more modern decor.
